The Belgian rock and indie band dEUS is returning to the Netherlands this fall with the ‘dEUS – Soft Electric tour’.
The band dEUS, founded in 1989, quickly developed their own style that consists of an exciting combination of avant-garde, blues, jazz, folk and pop. The rock formation from Antwerp has built up an impressive oeuvre over the last two decenniums with seven studio albums with on them famous hits such as ‘Instant Street’ and ‘Nothing Really Ends’. Last year the compilation album ‘Selected Songs 1994-2014′ was added to their repertoire, with a special selection of thirty of their best songs.
The band is regularly a headliner at the major festivals, but they also like to perform at clubs. dEUS has a grand repertoire and always ensures that also the less obvious songs are played.
dEUS will reveal a new side of themselves during this tour. The Belgian band will mostly play songs from the softer side of their discography. These are the songs that up until now have hardly been performed live!
De Belgische rock- en indieband dEUS komt dit najaar terug naar Nederland met de ‘dEUS – Soft Electric tour’.
De in 1989 opgerichte band dEUS ontwikkelde al snel een geheel eigen stijl die bestaat uit een spannende combinatie van avant-garde, blues, jazz, folk en pop. De Antwerpse rockgroep heeft in de afgelopen twee decennia een indrukwekkend oeuvre opgebouwd met maar liefst zeven studioalbums met daarop bekende hits als ‘Instant Street’ en ‘Nothing Really Ends’. Vorig jaar kwam daar nog een compilatiealbum, ‘Selected Songs 1994-2014’, bij met een speciale selectie van dertig van de beste songs. De band staat regelmatig als headliner op grote festivals, maar doet daarnaast ook graag de clubs aan. dEUS put uit een rijk repertoire en zorgt er altijd voor dat ook de minder voor de hand liggende nummers ten gehore worden gebracht.
dEUS zal zich tijdens deze tour van een geheel nieuwe kant laten zien. De Belgische band gaat vooral songs uit de zachtere kant van hun discografie ten gehore brengen. Dit zijn nummers die tot op heden zelden live zijn gespeeld!

Aldo Struyf dook in de jaren ’80 voor het eerst op met zijn band Buttweiser, sindsdien gezien op enkele platen van Nemo, een single van zijn eigen groepje Golf op Heavenhotel, als muzikant bij Orange Black en Vive La Fête, bij het covertrio/muzikale popquiz Sons of Sinatra, bij de dEUS-spin-offs tENERIFE (1996) en Radical Zero (2004), en als keyboardspeler bij Millionaire en Mark Lanegan band. Als DJ maakt hij deel uit van Millionaire Sound System, en van Dobberman, een DJ-duo dat hij vormt met Tom Barman. Solo debuteerde Aldo met een vinyl-singletje onder het pseudoniem ‘Aldolino’, en in 2004 verschijnt zijn eerste album ‘The Snake’ onder het pseudoniem ‘Creature with the Atom Brain’, uitgebracht op vinyl bij Conspiracy Records.
Als we Tom Barman op zijn woord mochten geloven op Cactus, staat er ons volgend jaar een “modderfokker van een nieuwe plaat” te wachten. In het Minnewaterpark moest je het voorlopig stellen met een modderfokker van een concert. Ook een goede deal.

Conclusie: hoe vaak een mens dEUS ook al gezien heeft, toch blijft de groep hardnekkig inzetten op uw verwondering.
