Big news: Korn is coming to Groningen! The band from Bakersfield, California has been active since 1993 and has been named the standard-bearer of the nu-metal genre. Besides this, the dark, personal and psychedelic lyrics by eccentric front man Jonathan Davis characterize the sound and face of Korn. At the moment the band consists of (besides Jonathan Davis) Reginald ‘Fieldy’ Arvizu, James ‘Munky’ Shaffer, Brian ‘Head’ Welch and Ray Luzier.
Korn debuted in 1994 with the identically named album ‘Korn’, but their breakthrough followed in 1996 with ‘Life is Peachy’. This album contained the single ‘A.D.I.D.A.S.’ and fans will still know what this acronym stands for… The largest commercial success the band had, was with their album ‘Follow The Leader’ (1998) and the single ‘Freak On A Leash’, also due to the very notable music video. In 2011 Korn experimented away with ‘Path Of Totality’, on which dubstep was combined with metal. The Groninger band Noisia worked on the album, besides names such as Skrillex and Datsik, amongst others.
The most recent album ‘Paradigm Shift’ was released in 2013. Worldwide the band has sold over thirty-five million records. Seize the opportunity to see this great band live in action in Groningen!

Support: The Qemists
De roots van The Qemists liggen in de harde rockmuziek, maar de band uit Brighton staat bekend om hun mix tussen elektronische rock en drum ‘n’ bass. Denk aan bands als The Prodigy en Pendulum. Ze hebben getekend bij het label Ninja Tune en brachten al nummers als ‘Stompbox’ en ‘S.W.A.G.’ uit. Het nieuwe album ‘Warrior Sound’ verschijnt dit jaar.
