Al in 1969 zette de Brit Alan Parsons zijn eerste schreden in de muziekbusiness dankzij zijn bijdragen aan het baanbrekende Beatles-album Abbey Road. Hij werkte als engineer aan de Pink Floyd platen Atom Heart Mother en Dark Side of the Moon, werk dat de boeken is ingegaan als uiterst vernieuwend en experimenteel. En daar houdt het niet mee op.
