John Hiatt
Met inmiddels een carrière van meer dan 40 jaar kunnen we gerust concluderen dat de Amerikaanse singer-songwriter en gitarist John Hiatt zijn sporen heeft verdiend. In 1974 begon zijn solo-avontuur en beoefende hij diverse stijlen, van rock & roll tot new wave en folk, blues en country.
Zijn doorbraak kwam pas echt dankzij zijn monsterhit Have A Little Faith In Me, dat inmiddels door vele (top)artiesten is gecoverd. Daarnaast heeft Hiatt ook songs voor andere artiesten geschreven, waaronder Rosanna Cash en Bob Dylan. Zijn laatste album Terms Of My Surrender bracht hij in 2014 uit. Het grotendeels akoestische album is zeer gevarieerd met 11 bluesy en folky songs met hier en daar een licht satirische noot.
Slow Turning
Na het album Slow Turning startte John Hiatt onder de naam ‘The Goners’ een nieuwe groep die wordt aangevoerd door slidegitarist Sonny Landreth. Hiermee maakt hij vuige rocknummers en mooie ballads. Zijn show in De Oosterpoort staat in het teken van het 30-jarig bestaan van Slow Turning. Samen met The Goners en Landreth zal Hiatt nummers van dit album spelen afgewisseld met andere bekende hits uit zijn repetoire.

John Hiatt
As his career has been lasting more than 40 years now, we can safely say that the American singer-songwriter and guitarist John Hiatt has won his spurs. His solo adventure started in 1974 and he practised several styles, from rock & roll to new wave, folk, blues, and country.
He really broke through with his monster hit Have A Little Faith In Me, which subsequently has been covered by many (top) artists. Hiatt also wrote songs for other artists, as Rosanna Cash and Bob Dylan. He released his latest album Terms Of My Surrender in 2014. This mainly acoustic album is a very varied one containing 11 bluesy and folk-like songs, with a slightly satirical note from time to time.
Slow Turning
After the album Slow Turning, John Hiatt founded a new group entitled ‘The Goners’, led by slide guitarist Sonny Landreth. With this group, he makes raw rock tracks and pretty ballads. His show in De Oosterpoort focuses on the thirtieth anniversary of Slow Turning. Together with The Goners and Landreth, Hiatt will perform songs from this album alternated with some of his other well-known hits.
