In een week die dankzij het Full Size Conducting-project op het Prins Claus Conservatorium (PCC) bol staat van de blaasmuziek, verzorgt een van de gastorkesten een concert in De Oosterpoort. Defensie laat zich wereldwijd vertegenwoordigen door de beste orkesten en een daarvan is de Koninklijke Militaire Kapel Johan Willem Friso.
Programma
Op het programma staan hoogtepunten uit alle windstreken van de blaasmuziek. Wat te denken van de ‘Fourth Symphony’ van Alfred Reed of de ‘Lincolnshire Posey’ van Percy Grainger? De solist van deze avond is wellicht een van de grootste parels die het PCC heeft voortgebracht: Matthijs Leffers. Deze bijzonder getalenteerde tubaïst maakt met het “Four Temperaments” van M. Brand een avond vol blaasmuziek op topniveau compleet.

Pearls from wind music
Thanks to the Full Size Conducting-project of the Prins Claus Conservatory (PCC), a full week will focus on wind music, which is why one of the guest orchestras will perform a concert at De Oosterpoort. The Department of Defence is represented all around the world by the best orchestras, and one of those esteemed collectives is the Royal Military Chapel Johan Willem Friso. The program contains highlights from all corners of wind music. What about the ‘Fourth Symphony’ by Alfred Reed or the ‘Lincolnshire Posey’ by Percy Grainer? The soloist of the night is likely one of the largest talents the PCC has ever produced: Saleem Kham. This remarkably talented trumpeter will make an extraordinary night even more special with the ‘Trumpetconcert’ by Arutiunian.
