LOVE = MUSIC tour 2019
In december 2017 was je er misschien bij toen Sarah en Gert Bettens de kaarsjes op hun 25-jarige jubileumtaart uitbliezen. De slingers zijn nog maar amper opgeborgen of de muzikale honger slaat alweer toe. Op 27 januari komt het kloppend hart van K’s Choice terug naar Groningen.
Akoestische theatertour
Na de indrukwekkende reeks verjaardagsconcerten op binnen- en buitenlandse rockpodia en hun deelname aan het televisieprogramma ‘Liefde voor Muziek’ – de Belgische versie van ‘Beste Zangers’ – laten Sarah en Gert (K’s Choice) je in deze akoestische theatertour horen hoe het ooit allemaal begon. Juist de intimiteit van de Stadsschouwburg laat zang en melodieën perfect tot hun recht komen.
Terug naar de jaren negentig
Begin jaren negentig begonnen broer en zus Bettens met z’n tweetjes op een klein podium. Het was de tijd waarin ze werkten aan hun debuutplaat ‘The Great Subconscious Club’. Ingetogen, akoestische songs bepaalden nog de toon, want echt rocken deden ze pas later. Het waren de jaren voor K’s Choice zou uitgroeien tot een van de populairste bands van de Lage Landen. Ruim 25 jaar later keren Sarah en Gert samen voor het eerst terug naar hun roots.
Songs van muzikale helden en uit de eigen schatkist
Ze grasduinen in songs van muzikale helden die hun smaak en richting destijds mee bepaalden. Maar je hoort ook covers en songs uit de eigen K’s Choice-schatkist. De ‘LOVE = MUSIC tour 2019’ wordt een muzikaal avontuur, een terugblik op de prachtige begindagen, maar ongetwijfeld ook de voorloper van een nieuw studio-album. Leun achterover en geniet!

Following an impressive series of birthday concerts in rock venues home and abroad and their appearance on the television programme ‘Liefde voor Muziek [Love for Music]’ – the Belgian version of the Dutch programme ‘Beste Zangers [Best Singers]’ – in this acoustic theatre tour Sarah and Gert show you how it all started. And if you are familiar with the duo, you know that the intimacy of the Stadsschouwburg makes their vocals and melodies stand out perfectly.
Back to the nineties
In the early nineties brother and sister Bettens started out on a small stage. They were working on their debut album ‘The Great Subconscious Club’. Subdued, acoustic songs set the tone, as it was not until later that they really started rocking. During these years K’S CHOICE would grow into one of the most popular band of the Low Countries. More than 25 years later, Sarah and Gert return to their roots for the first time.
Songs from musical heroes and their own treasury
They browsed through songs from musical heroes that helped inspire their taste and direction at the time. But you also hear covers from the laurelled television programme and songs from their own K’S CHOICE treasury. The ‘LOVE = MUSIC tour 2019’ will be a musical adventure, a retrospect of the wonderful starting days, yet without a doubt also the precursor of a new studio album. Lean back and enjoy!
