Het avontuurlijke Ragazze Quartet begeeft zich met bloedstollend mooie klassieke muziek als uitgangspunt regelmatig op minder begane, maar des te leukere paden. Zo ook in ‘Radio Rusland’, waarin de vier vrouwen samenwerken met Componist des Vaderlands Mayke Nas, schrijver Ilja Leonard Pfeijffer en acteur Noel S. Keulen.
Theatraal concert
Voor dit theatrale concert wordt de kleine zaal omgetoverd tot radiostudio. Een componist bereidt zich in de wachtruimte voor op een speech. Hij ijsbeert door het vertrek, schaaft nog wat aan zijn tekst en hoort ondertussen op de radio strijkkwartetten van onder anderen Sjostakovitsj en Goebaidoelina, maar ook nieuwsitems, flarden van praatprogramma’s en historische opnames voorbijkomen. Componiste des Vaderlands Mayke Nas zorgt voor het overkoepelende muzikale raamwerk.

Theatrical concert
The adventurous Ragazze Quartet often utilises exhilaratingly beautiful classical music as an entry point to less common but also more exciting musical directions. This is also true in ‘Radio Rusland’ (Radio Russia), where the four women work together with Componist des Vaderlands (national composer) Mayke Nas, writer Ilja Leonard Pfeiffer and actor Noel S. Keulen. For this theatrical concert, the small theatre will be transformed into a radio studio as a composer prepares his speech in the waiting room. He paces back and forth, makes some final adjustments to the text and listens to string quartets on the radio by, among others, Sjostakovitsj and Gubaidulina, but also to news items, fragments from talkshows, and historical recordings. National composer Maybe Nas will provide the encompassing musical framework.
